In 2023 about this time I posted Alberta Wildfires 2023. A question posed in that post was whether the number of hectares burned in 2023 was an anomaly or whether it was the start of a trend. Following are the Alberta wildfire statistics up to 2025 (up to October 4, 2025).

All Data from Alberta.ca website.

As can be seen, the number of wild fires in Alberta remain on a downward trend and the area burned remains on an upward trend going back to 2006. However, if we use 2010 as our starting point, it appears the area burned has been relatively stable since the, excepting 2023. One can also see that the area burned in 2023 was an anomaly.
